Sink mixer faucets ?

Postby Karebru » Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:32 pm

Any plumbers in the house?
My trailer has two sinks. Kitchen and bathroom. No shower or flushing toilet. No water heater.
I have a freshwater tank with an unpressurized, demand pump system. I had that on a boat, and know how it works.
I've been thinking that I'd also like to include a seperate pressurized system that can run off of campground hookups.
That way I'd have the option of not having to fill the tank and run the pump.
I was thinking I might be able to connect the pump system up to say, the cold side of the mixer faucets, and the pressurized hookup system to the hot side.
(They're typical kitchen faucets)
Then I could move the levers from "hot" to "cold" depending on which supply I was using.
Could it be that simple?

Although your idea could work, there are simpler plans.

For the current pump system -- tank to pump to one-way valve or tank to one-way valve to pump into the water system via a tee with the city water

For the city intake, intake to one-way valve into the water system via a tee with the pump water. Some of the city water intakes have the one way valve built in. A regulator is a good idea.

The one-way valve prevents the city water entering the pump and the water tanks.

Similarly the city water one-way valve prevent the pump water from flowing out the city water intake.

Nice but much more elaborate plumbing diagram. http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=67064&p=1183750&hilit=city+diagram#p1183750 The top right is the part you need.

Thanks.
I tend to overthink things sometimes.
There are a couple one way valves in my home water system.
Don't know why I didn't think about that. :wacky
