Gonefishin: Thanks... I will definitely ask you about the good places when I get out there. It is just a matter of when... life events have thrown a curve ball to my wife an I this year and we are dealing with it.. I am not as free to take off on extended trips as I had wanted to be. At least for now.

Hi Bruce... the panels are made and sold by Newpowa

Picked up the Sink and AC today. Not sure if I will undermount or overmount, but I have options. It is a 15x15in Bar Sink that is 7 inches deep. I like it.

The AC is a 5,000 BTU GE. Starts up fine from Eco mode on my Honda and draws less than 400W on highest settings. I think this is going to work well especially with the 420W of Solar panels if I run AC on the 1500W PureSine Inverter in full sun from the 280Ah LifePO4 bank that charges at full current all the way.

Threw in a pic of Lexus (puppy update).. Lexus (Lex) is 11 months old now.. She has turned out to be a good traveling companion, camp watch dog, and is very alert and protective of me when on leash. Also, she has long hair which I did not know when I got her @ 6 weeks old, but Lex is a beautiful dog in my opinion; nonetheless. A little more work to keep brushed out for sure!

Hope to be picking up the trailer in the next few weeks. I am getting anxious to start this build.

What brand and model of inverter are you going to use ... I did not spot it on your parts list. Thanks

It is a WZRELB 1500W Pure Sine Inverter. I already had it from my previous CTC when I upgraded it to a 3000W Inverter. These are relatively cheap, but I have found them to be very reliable and well built. They do cause some HAM Radio noise so there is some EMI coming from them... but I just turn it off if I am going to use the HF Radio. This will run anything I will need in the 6x12 build.

Hey Don, are you happy with your Sherline tongue weight scale?
I'm getting ready to order one.
Did you get the 1,000 lb version?
Thanks!

Thanks all on Lex.

I like the scale. I think it is a nice tool for the box and takes all guesswork out.

I bought the 0-2,000 lb model.

Better add a small vaciuum cleaner into the build. If your going to be hauling the puppy around you will need it.

We have a golden ret. That thing is a fur factory. We have to vac the van every day when she is with us. But she likes to travel.

Flboy, Howdy;

Depending on Lexi's attitude towards the high pitch noise from the vac. you could vacuum her
to help with the fur problem. Good for a lot of the surface hair or as a finish to a good brushin'.

Received the fridge today. It is a 2.5 cubic ft Black and Decker. It uses less than 60 watts while running. I am going to let it run a few days to make sure it is good.

I have had good luck with these type fridges in the CTC when using a pure sinewave inverter. They seem to work well and do not use more power than the more expensive DC versions, except the caveat that the inverter needs to be on all the time... which I typically have on anyhow since they draw just a few watts in standby and the battery bank will be way more than needed to run the fridge for a few days with no sun.

Note that a modified sinewave inverter will prematurely kill the compressor motor.

Are those fridge shelves tempered glass or acrylic? I was thinking of returning the 4.2cu ft MAgic Chef one I got as the shelves are glass and I am afraid to really use them while traveling. I was thinking of replacing them or maybe just returning it for one without the glass. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are you intending to use to keep the fridge door closed in transit? Thanks!!

Can you meter the kwh usage for a 24 hour period with the kill-a-watt? That will tell you a lot more about the energy usage than just the watt draw.
