Side door insulation?

My CTC has a 4ft side door and while I am wishing it had a more normal sized RV door due to the wall space lost, it's a little too late now.
I am curious if anyone has taken one of these apart to insulate them? The manufacturer has filled all the big torx heads for the hinges with silicone, almost as if to say "just don't".
While I am tempted to start taking it apart, it seems very hollow except for the cross braces where the 3 hinges mount to the door panel.
As I am going to install a window between the top braces, I am wondering whether I should try and pack it with insulation from that hole once I cut it, knowing I'd have to do something different for the bottom half, unless I just left that bottom part hollow.
The best I have come up with in my head is to do the top when I cut for the window and then cut a panel out of the luan on the bottom to access and fill it and then use a sheet of that white laminated luan to cover it all up after.
Anyone insulate one of these before and have any advice?

Thanks!!

I would take the door off and get one side open which should be pretty simple once the trim is off. I've seen doors where there are simply cross bars, and some that are a combination of crossbars with wood supports in places. I helped a friend with one once that already had a wood frame for the window (of course he didn't know and the window he had didn't fit lol). Once open it should be pretty simple to insulate and you can choose to put the original door panel on or go with something different. Just reapply the silicon (or your sealant of choice) to keep water from getting in the door where your bolts are.

ISOTNT, Howdy;

There have been several folks that have done that. Quick use of the Google enhanced

Thank you, guys. I have been looking for pics of one taken apart, but as txen stated, they are probably a number of different ways they build these things. I'll just have to get into it and see.

ISOTNT - Did you end up opening up the door to insulate? Just about to do the same to mine, and am wondering how it went.

my 6x12 came with all 3 doors solid osb, 1-1/2” thick, not many options to insulate. although it will make it much simpler to cut out 2 windows i have to install, so everything’s coming up milhouse!
