I just brought online a 12k mini split operating on 240VAC. I designed my CTCC for generator or upgraded to a solar system. With internal temps of the camper at 121f I brought the mini split online and highest recorded amp reading was 3 amps. I haven’t been able to test heat yet. I am building my CTCC for dispersed camping, hunting and fishing on National Forest and BLM property. The build continues to be ongoing but getting closer to completion by the day. Mini-split systems were my answer and with some thought it may be yours too.

I presume you are saying 3Ah at 240v. If so, that would be a 60Ah draw if powering from a 12v battery, ignoring inverter efficiency losses.

That would be a good rule of thumb estimate. I agree with you.
