Maiden Voyage to Lake Buchanan and Inks Lake

Postby bc555af » Tue Mar 17, 2015 6:06 pm

Finished our first teardrop for our mini cooper and took it on a weekend trip 2 1/2 hours north to Lake Buchanan 8) The mini cooper hitch was still being shipped, so we used a suburban as the TV. Never even knew it was there! :) Right after we arrived, we had a lot of visitors asking about teardrops and some even asked for plans. Referred them to TNTTT of course! :D We spent the day hiking around Inks Lake and driving around Longhorn Cavern SP. Beautiful drive! The first night in the teardrop was great; way better than tent camping! Sunday morning we made breakfast and headed home. :(

Unpacking took all of 10 minutes and when we got home, all I had to do was unpack our clothes, clean out the ice chest, and wheel the teardrop back in the garage. :)

A teardrop is the perfect way to do a weekend. Just grab some food and clothes and away you go.
Plus if you want to do a longer trip. Gas mileage will not kill you.
Number one TD rule make the bed in the morning because you will be showing it off. (part of the fun ,great ice breaker)

That sure looked like a nice first trip away. Your TD is going to look really good behind the Mini.
I have to agree with you about the unpacking when you get home, especially if you have work tomorrow.
KennethWs comment about making the bed is so true. Owning a TD is a bit like living in a show home, there is always someone wanting to have a guided tour.
Congratulations on the build and your first trip.
