Thanks Miriam,
You're so helpful. I will look into those links. I have single leaf springs that are 2" wide. Only one leaf to a spring. I don't know what they came from, but it's nothing common. I bought the tear, and the frame is home built. I think the best thing is to have new ones installed. I think I Will need a welder to do it as new brackets need to be added to the frame.
Worry about it when I get to Georgia.

Thank you very, very much Madjack! Now I know where to start looking. I will pass the informationto my son so he can start the search. Always amazed at the knowledge on this forum!

I am in the land of boiled peanuts and kudzu! I plan to be at my son's house about 6 PM tomarrow when he gets home from work. I'm actually less than 4 hours away, but there won't be anyone home. I'm spending tonight in yet another KOA in Manchester, TN on I 24. Going to do a little sightseeing tomorrow to use up the extra time. The Jack Daniel's Distellery is about a 30 minute drive away. I'm also going to hit the Lodge factory. Will definitely take pictures. Went through Memphis and Nashville today, didn't even stop. My other son can''t understand why I didn't stop to say hello to Elvis. I was too busy following the directions on my Garmin. It's been a huge help in big cities. Got through and knew which lane I needed to be in.

I put some more pictures in my album from my trip. Yesterday I went to the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchberg, Tn. Not my favorite adult beverage, but what a great tour. Really entertaining. Recommended!

I also visited the Lodge Outlet. I left with a trivet for the bottom of my dutch oven and a cookbook. I will pass it on my way north again. thinking about getting a 12" oven.

I'm spending the next week and a half at my son's house. We are working on the spring problem. Next weekend we are going to camp together a one of north Georgia's lovely state parks. He has a Scotty Highlander that he is restoring.

After seeing all that iron, Dean is going to have to mop up the drool on his desk.

I have new springs! I finally found a set of springs that could replace the broken one on my tear. Thought for a while that I might have to leave it at my son's house. After a long frustrating search on the net and on the phone for any place that could possibly have very small slipper springs with a hook, I found them at Red Trailer. The people there were very helpful and got my stuff to me promptly. These springs come on one of their small folding trailers. The new ones have 2 leaves rather than just the one leaf. A local trailer place that speciallizes in cargo trailers installed them. The trailer is riding about 4 inches higher than it did originally. My original springs were too weak for the trailer even though it only weighs about 500 lbs. The people at the trailer place had never actuall seen a tear up close. More tours. Leaving Georgia Tuesday for Northern Indianna and then Minden.
