First camping trip

Postby Airspeed » Wed Jun 06, 2007 9:42 am

We took our camper out last weekend and had a great time,we went to a campground about a mile from my house,Pit one campground,it is a beautiful place, the pit river flows over a waterfall into a little lagoon right next to the spot we camped,it's perfect for swimming and fishing and just staring at the water.
Everything in the tear worked perfect,I forgot to fill my water tanks all the way so we only had about 15 gallons instead of 20 but we didnt run out,the little on demand flojet pump worked great,my icebox kept the food at 41 degrees with two blocks of ice. It was great! I loved cooking in the galley,it was allot easier than cooking inside a camp trailer and I didn't wake up my wife at 5 AM when I got up to make coffee.
I will never buy another camp trailer.I have always had a self contained trailer and I dont miss it a bit!
Here are a few pics of our trip,I cant find the memory stick with the majority of our pics on it so I just have these. I think my daughter took it home by mistake. anyway, thanks again for all the help I got from you all! Aaron

It is a really nice place, and only a couple minutes from my house.we have camped there for twenty years and never get sick of it,BLM recently took it over from PGE and rebuilt the whole place, you have to pay eight bucks a night but it's well worth it.
We are going to make a longer trip soon, that was one of the reasons I built the tear so we could travel further without dragging a 2000 lb brick around, My tear is so much easier to tow,I can hardly tell it's back there.
It was about 95 degrees during the day and it stayed nice and cool inside,Im glad I decided to insulate,we stayed nice and warm all night as well.
Sell that 27 footer! Aaron

I think those tall things w/the green on them are "trees", They grow out of the ground and the green things are called "leaves" They are like solar panels for the "trees" to gather energy from the sun.
Do you not have trees where you live?
I am itching to go camping again! I want to go every weekend and I am going to try and go at least twice a month throughout the summer. It is just way too much fun and so easy to go now that I can just hook up to such a light weight trailer!
I used to dread hooking up my big old camper and drag it down the road,The only thing I could pull it with was my Blazer, now I can just cruise down the road as if I had nothing behined me and I get to use my 69 C-10, Much more fun!
Get your tears done! Those green things are waiting!!

Your an airbrush artist? I wish you lived next door so I could constantly harass you until you did some free airbrush work for me!

No we don't have many trees. Mesquite trees and sage brush are about it...we have some in town with the houses but they don't count..hehe
