Stranded in Coos Bay Oregon

Postby halfdome, Danny » Tue Jul 03, 2007 2:22 pm

We decided to take the coast route home from Yosemite. Around Bandon Oregon we started having trouble up the grades only going 20 mph. We limped into Coos Bay and it died in front of Bayshore Mortors. The fuel pump had died and it was Friday afternoon and the part would be here Monday. We had our TD towed to Lucky Loggers RV park in downtown Coos Bay, walking distance to all the stores etc. Visited with my half sister Saturday. The strap broke so they ordered a new part and it came in wrong this morning so they are going to weld a new bolt on to the old strap to get us home today, Jane has to work Thursday. I'll post pictures when we get home. Happy 4th to everyone. :D Danny :D

Nothing like a little adversity to make things interesting. One thing for shure, it will make this one of your more memorable 4th of July holidays. Good to hear that you are making the best of it.

Well I camped across from Danny in Carnation the last couple of nights so I know he made it home and his rig is running fine.
His arm is another story. :frightened:

Jim,
Thanks for the update, glad to hear they made it home safely. I camped overnight with them last week, so I can verify that they finally got to camp down here in the redwoods at a teardrop gathering. As the saying goes, "It only takes two teardrops to form a gathering."

Well I'm finally home for a couple weeks until the next gathering, can't see sitting around here if there is something going on close by. Had a wonderful time at Ken and Marty's place :applause: in Carnation, can't wait until next year. Thanks for posting that picture of our gathering Kevin. I have over 200 emails to go through and got to unpack and clean up everything, so later for now, :D Danny
