We, as a family, went to MOAB for a vacation. First one in about 4 years and may be the last one as a family (My sons are 18 and 23) We had a great time even though it was pushing 110*to 118* during the day. In three days we traveled there, did part of Fins n Things. The next day we did the whole Fins n Things trail and went bouldering that night. Day three we did Baby Lions Back, Top of the World and traveled to the mountains of Colorado. We needed a break from the heat. We took about 600 pictures. This first video is of MOAB. Hopefully I will have the Colorado pics compiled into a video soon.

I drive the 4runner (lifted 2.5"), my 18 year old son drives the Xterra (lifted 2.5") and my 23 year old son drives the Jeep TJ (lifted 3"). They all did great. Some of the hills and dips were down right scarry. The 4runner and the Xterra both have IFS. The Xterra could waly up somethings that I had to get a run at. The Xterra is an auto and has a rear locker, nice. The 4runner is a stick and is open/open, I wish I had a locker. The TJ with the swaybar disconnected it articulates great and the 4runner and the Xterra like to trike over things. We didn't have to strap or winch anyone and we had no body damage. All three vehicles have skids and sliders (sliders are basically butch rocker protection, 2x2x.120) The Xterra has a flat belly but does sit lower. My son did drop onto the sliders, in the Xterra, about a dozen times. The only damage was scratched paint.

...thanks...those trails look like they would put each thru their paces and give good comparisons between them...sounds like they each did just fine...I've driven, many times thru the area in a big rig and have thought, it would be a fun place to spend a little time playing.......

In no way did the Jeep out perform. It did have better articulation. Actualy the Xterra had the least amount of trouble getting up some obsticals. It has a rear locker.
