Monstero at Little Grass Valley Reservior

Postby nevadatear » Sat Sep 12, 2009 3:19 pm

Spent labor day at Running Deer Campground at Little Grass Valley Reservoir. This was a great place and I highly recommended it. Even met another teardrop couple from Yuba City.

We were the first tear they had seen in the wild! If coming from the north to the Reservior, there is quite a windy (as in curvy) road from Quincy (La Porte) road. Can't go more than 35, but it is really pretty.

Running Deer is one of 4 campgrounds right on the lake. There are 5-10 sites at each campground which back right up to the lake, only 100 yards or so.

We looked at all 4 and Running Deer and Red Feather are the best. They are heavily forested and the campsites are large and spaced well apart. There are several that grouped together would make great group/family/gathering place.

:applause:  Beautiful campground! Real peaceful looking. I wouldn't mind a slower trip to get there!

nope, it is well worth it, especially because since it is not just right off the freeway, it is much less popular and crowded. The best things take a little work! ;)
