Off to Dingman's Campground, in the Deleware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is the second trip with my tear... pictures to follow!

As a child, I remember stopping on every trip to take pictures of the signs at all the National Parks we visited. Most of the pictures were the entire family except for my dad, who never quite figured out the tripod and timer thing.

These falls are a ten minute drive, and a five minute very easy walk from the campground. On the weekends they offer Park Ranger tours every couple hours.

I took a walk to see the riverfront campsites, but they are actually about 50 feet from the river, and are blocked by trees and a steep embankment, so you don't really see much of the river from the campsites. This is by the loading ramp in the campground. A two minute walk from my site.

Ok, so the sign picture is out of sequence, this was on the walk to the falls. I just thought it was pretty funny.

This is just a view down the road where my site was. As you can see the campground was pretty empty, and the site sizes are very nice!

Hi, Paul:

It looks like you had a beautiful spot and a very relaxing time, with the campground mostly to yourself. Thanks for sharing the pics! :applause:

Looks like a great campground! Jess and I stayed at a state park campground Friday night, and it was crowded and we had kinda crappy weather. Glad your weekend turned out better!

Thanks Zach:

It rained last night, but not until almost midnight, so I was just about to hit the pillows anyway, and it stopped before I got up. Ya can't ask for better than that.

What park did you stay at?

Gifford Pinchot State Park, in Lewisberry, PA (about 15 minutes from my apartment)

A bunch of us were supposed to be going to the mountains in Northern PA, but it was a last minute plan, and most of the people had to back out. It ended up just being me, Jess, and Fred the Beagle.

Plans never work the way they're supposed to. My youngest son (20) was supposed to come up Saturday night with a friend, but got scheduled to work, so I was solo again.

It's interesting going solo, lot's of time to reflect.
