ROUTE 66 ROADTRIP A MINI-ADVENTURE JUST FOR THE FORUM

Postby TERRYBECK » Wed Nov 24, 2010 8:53 pm

Last years Route 66 Post was well-received so I have worked up another one just for the teardrop forum. It is my hope to entice you guys to get out and see America in your teardrop or any other way you want to. It is long with many pictures so I hope you enjoy reading about my favorite destination.

Thanks for showing us so many of the forgotten or seldom visited relics of the old Route 66.

Also, appreciate your comments about Arizona, a wonderfully varied and diverse state.

We've driven I-40 twice from CA to TN on our way to either GA or CA, and I didn't realize that we were so close to old 66. Of course we were trying to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible, so even if I had known, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy it.

Santa Rosa NM was always a milestone for us, and we spent the night there both times. We both fell in love with the area, and would really like to go back. Guess it's time to get busy and get the TTT designed and built, and get out there.

Thank you so very much for bringing back such memories for the wife and I. Your write up is very inspiring. I've bookmarked your site and plan to use it to plan some excursions of our own as soon as we're able to go.

Thank you for posting this with all the little stories and of course the pictures. I have said for years that a trip down as much of ol 66 would be a real hoot. My dad owns a 63 Pontiac Catalina that would make a trip of a lifetime out of it. I have been trying to get him to make that trip. So far no luck.
Thanks again for posting this.

:o  Wonderful tour! The pictures are fantastic.

You do need to edit one little thing. :D Commerce is in OK and I am sure you intended to say as you leave KS but says "as you enter."

Keep up the work! Even those of us who live here could use a refresher!
