First trip in the T.E.A.R.!!!!!!!! PICS ADDED!!!

Postby WildTexan » Thu Sep 01, 2011 11:47 pm

Well, tomorrow is the big day. We start the voyage to a Colorado tour. 9 days camping in the T.E.A.R. I don't think I've been this nervous since I got married. I just hope it holds together goin' down the road. And hopefully it will hold out at least a little rain. I guess there is only one way to find out. I know this is a pretty big "first" trip, but why not? They have hotels in Colorado. I told my wife I have a back up plan.

I'll post lots and lots of pics. We're going to the Royal Gorge area, and the Carbondale area. Lots of hiking, dipping in the hot springs, train ride through Royal Gorge, and rafting. Hopefully, we will pull out by 7 tonight. I'll drive to Amarillo before taking a rest. Or at least a short nap. Hope I don't forget anything.

I'm envious. Both because you are test driving your tear, and because I LOVE Colorado.
Have a great time.

I had no idea about the gathering. I really should pay closer attention. This trip is the only reason the tear build was completed. About a month ago the wife called me at work and said, "I made reservations for us at these campsites for Labor Day week. You better have the teardrop done by then." That got me motivated. Lol. I can't upload pics from my phone, but we are in Amarillo this morning. 72 degrees was a perfect temp for sleeping, and it sure beats the heck out of the 90 degree nights we were having back in Dallas. Last night was also the first time we slept in the tear together. Wasn't bad at all. I actually like my wife curled up around me when I sleep. Go figure.

Have fun on your trip, there WT.

Hey, if you like swimming in hot springs....north of there just above Steamboat Springs is a hot spring area called Strawberry park (if memory serves).
