That sounds like a destination we should add to our travel bucket list. We have general plans to spend a week or two somewhere in the mid Fla to Sarasota area this February. Maybe adding a few days to the Keys is in order. Thanks.

The Keys are a wildly popular winter destination. We couldn't be more enthusiastic about it.

In your planning, keep in mind that you will need to make reservations nearly a year (10-12 months) in advance. At this point, there are no reservations available for winter 2016. But... people do cancel their reservations. So, you might be lucky and get a site if you call around in January looking for a site in Feb-March. That's actually how we got in the first year.

Sugarloaf Key KOA seems to have a few open sites available each afternoon for late comers due to cancellations. But by 8 PM, those sites are taken.

Good luck. Maybe we'll meet up with you there one day.

Thank you for the heads up on the tight reservation availability issue. It is too early to commit so if we are headed in that direction early next year, I will check for any cancelations. We too look forward to meeting new folks like this.
