Camping, Kayaking, Fishing & hiking in the Eastern Sierra's

Postby sealbeachbum » Sat Aug 09, 2014 6:46 pm

We just got back from the Eastern Sierra's. We camped in Rock Creek Lake Campground. It was our first time there and we now have a new favorite campground! We did some kayak fishing on the lake one day, Bodie Ghost Town the next day, and some hiking in Yosiemite the next. We also visited several other Eastern Sierra lakes. Wow! The beauty of this area is just mind blowing! We can't wait to go back, but can only do it in the summer. Our campground was at 10,000 ft and cold at night and in the morning. What a wonderful trip, thanks for sharing your pic's with us.  The eastern slope is very breath taking for sure, and Bodie, no matter how many times you go there you will spot something you never noticed before. I think everyone who visit's Bodie gets a picture with the old 37 Chevy, got one myself.

On another note, I noticed the "Big E" hat, one of my good buddy's spent 3 years aboard the Enterpise, roughly 76-79. Thanks again.

Great locations and great pics. The ghost town is pretty amazing that so much is still intact.

Saw your hat, were you on the enterprise? If so during what years? My brother was on it when it ran aground coming back into port on the West Coast.
