I have neglected this thread;
I have a couple of trips in the TD
I apologise for those of you who read my stories in my build thread.

I have a wee notebook I am using a a diary; I will copy the notes from that and then add some pictures (If any were taken)

3-4 Oct 2015
Location: Okains Bay, Banks Peninsula, NZ
https://www.google.co.nz/maps/place/Okains+Bay/@-43.7092676,172.9666905,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x6d33cdf24c967b83:0x500ef8684799810

the campground is this one:
http://www.okainsbaycamp.co.nz/

I stayed one night with my son and some friends.
Highlight of this (Besides being Alexander's first night) was the food:
Red deer back steaks slow cooked over charcoal
Kahawai cooked in wet newspaper over charcoal
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arripis_trutta
Soda Bread (in DO over coals)
Marinated pork strips (in DO over coals)

Breakfast was bacon and pancakes

9/10/15
Location: My yard
I did a back yard camp with my 2 year old

23/10/ 15
Location: Spencer Park Holiday Park
http://www.spencerbeachholidaypark.co.nz/

First night with both kids in the TD
I picked my son up from school and we were off.
Got to the site approx 3.45pm
We had sausages and bread for dinner and I made the kids popcorn in the DO over carcoal.
Kids slept well, it got to 8 dec C so was cosy at night
Breakfast was simple, bacon and pancakes

Took the kids to see the animal park and the beach

Positives all round

Hi Frank
there has been a few family commitments but I will get out and about again soon.

Oh btw if any of you international TD owners are in NZ, specifically canterbury,
I am happy to let you use my td for a few nights

I like your use of Google Maps. Gives a great feeling for the area you were in.
Great report.

So I went to Motunau for new years eve
The focus was drinking and crayfish (NZ rock lobster) harvesting
I did both rather well and took no photos LOL
Anyway this wed night I took the kids to my sister's farm
I got some great photos of my setup but my 3 year old daughter is in them all sans clothing (She had been playing in the creek and decided to get changed) so I cannot post them.

I did take my lad hunting while my daughter played with her cousin and got a couple of hares a bunny and a possum

Pics to come

on the 22/24 Jan I am off to gore bay

Well long time no updates
I have been packing the TD and its all ready for the weekend
I am taking the wee man on a camping trip where I hope to teach him some hunting skills.
I have to cook a meal (it is a group trip)
I am making a game stew with
Red Deer
Chamois
Tahr
rabbit
Hare
Wild Pork Bacon

I hope to harvest some field mushrooms on the drive up to the site.

I will be adding dried beans and tomatoes from my garden and one of my friends home brewed stout

It should be good.

I have packed a camera so WILL post pics from this trip
