Thank you for posting this! My Lodge DO is on it's way here from Amazon, along with a lid lifter. I know not to trust pre-seasoning...it's just a head start in the right direction!!

Looking forward to practicing with my DO before I hit the camping trail!!

Thank you for the seasoning tip. I am cleaning out the camp box, switching from tent to a teardrop and the pans were in bad shape. My procedure was to put a wire brush in the drill motor and go over the pans to break the bits of glaze still there. Then, since easyoff wreaks my sinuses, I put a couple tablespoons of pure lye (drain cleaner) in the dutch oven and put the pans in that and started a fire. The pans look like stainless steel, off to get the correct oil now.
