Beef cooked 3 ways- not by choice...

Postby jandmz » Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:32 pm

We went camping last weekend, and my DSIL's SO had promised to cook a sirloin tip roast in his DO. He has a tripod that stands over the fire, and figured it would take about 5 hours to cook. i built the fire, and he hung the DO over the fire. After about an hour, the rain started and beat the fire down enough that it would take all night to cook. He decided to transfer the roast into an electric roaster that the park "friend's group" uses in the concession stand to keep food warm. About an hour later, the storm knocked out power to the campground. So, he pulled the liner out of the roaster, and set it on the propane grill to cook.

Even with all the problems, the roast was excellent, thanks to his flexibility and ingenuity...
