Kit and Caboodle CO Cooking?

Postby S. Heisley » Sun Mar 10, 2013 4:00 pm

...Thought time! :?

If one had an 8" dutch oven, couldn't they put that in the center of a 14" DO with a bread or desert inside and meat and/or vegetables surrounding the 8" DO within the 14" DO and cook an entire meal together? (Of course, the charcoal would only be put on the top and bottom of the 14" DO and not on the little one, inside.) Has anybody ever tried that? How well has it worked?

Interesting idea. The inside oven would probably have to be the legless variety to transfer heat (and leave the lid offf so the heat from the large lid only has to work once. Probably better with a thinner pot on the inside for quicker heat transfer. Might be worth a try.
