I just got home from being there for the day. drove out to visit. 7 tears and 2 tents. It is BEAUTIFUL! Really nice weather and good food.
Eddie, Gene and Tim have done a lot of work to make camping sites. Everyone was having a great time. If you like bonfires you are going to love this place.
I had to come home because of another commitment.
Next year I will take the Hill House for the entire weekend
I will try and post pictures tomorrow.
Put this gathering on your calendar for next year. It is going to be one of the great ones

More to come about the Whitethorn Run

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:28 am

8) Back from the wilds....and what a WONDERFUL birthday weekend I had there! 13 people, 3 dogs, 7 Teardrops, & 2 tents were in the attendance count. The weather was lovely, the food fantastic, and the people....well, they were the BEST. Thanks to those of you who came out to the gathering and launched this off the grid event. I know all of us were impressed with the property, it's beauty and solitude. More to come later, including pictures. A BIG thank you to the Barkers for hosting us at the Homestead. A tremendous amount of your time and energy over the last few years made your dream and vision a reality, Gene & Eddie. We appreciate you sharing it with us. Stay tuned for the adventures of Batter Man and Waffle Woman!!

Nice pics Eunice.
It'd sure be nice to get a full resolution shot of the group shot to give to Gene & Eddie.
I'll try one more time to post my pics... First try I lost my entire post.

Gene & Eddie's 1st Rustic Whitethorn Run was a blast!!!
They labored hard during this past year working on their property to ready themselves for their first gathering and the fruits showed!!!
Gene took me for a spin in his little Toyota 4x4 pickup, which just so happened to be powered by a 350 small block. (Lots of hang time)
The cookshack was awesome!!!
Thanks Gene & Eddie!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:
We will be there for the 2nd RWR for sure!!!
