IRG Horseshoe competition

Postby notned » Tue Jan 17, 2012 4:50 pm

For example --- I've been to church volleyball games that were for funnzies. and I've been to work volleyball games that were serious.

Seeing the talk around the derby, I'm thinking that the horseshoe match would be more on the serious side.

To re-state -- I'm an amateur, what is the level of play of horseshoes at the IRG?

For fun I hope...I"m sure a dominant person will emerge, but we had many teams in that were there just for grins in the past and we had a lot of them. Maybe Donn and Donna will bring their ladder ball game. We had a lot of fun with that at a camp out last summer. Doug

PS...there's no derby this year!

Yes, no derby. I think I know now how it is.

You win it's fun, you don't win it's serious. grin

Tournament

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Wed Jan 18, 2012 12:20 am

:) It is a tourney, there is a "trophy/title" and the ladder advances the winner each time to play again until we are down to the final two. I would say a player would find it to be fun, not overly serious, but not tense cut throat either.

When we get sign ups the individuals arrange their games and come back to the ladder sheet to tell the person moving on. Some people check on Thurs., and others begin to play on Fri/Sat. so it does depend on when you arrive to determine how many games you MAY have to play on any given day. I just need to know the final winner by the Awards that night (Sat.)
