I added a trailer hitch and bicycle carrier to my beetle

I'm getting ready to resume my bicycle commuting and training for my Boston to Province town ride in June with Outriders. My training partner lives in Scarborough Me & we usually do a couple of 70 rides together and hit a several of the local rail trails. I set up my Beetle with hitch and racks last weekend.

The down side of a rag top but this was the option I would use regardless. Now I have to start building my Teardrop for this car.

Hitch rack is definitely the way to go in my opinion. Has much less impact on mileage and wind noise than a roof rack and you don't have to worry about scraping your bike off on the garage door if you forget it's up there!

Those rail-mount models (that support the bike under the wheels) are nice. if I didn't have a little pick up that I could just throw bikes in the back of, that's the way I'd go...
