Quilting Bee anyone?

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

For anyone seeking fabric...go to www.fabshophop.com It is primarily for people seeking out of stock/production fabrics, and will help you out in finding who in the country still has some of your desired fabric in stock. Also a quick search of the major fabric vendors sites usually list what shops carry their goods. For complete collections via internet try www.hancocksofpaducah.com they are east coast or try www.fabricdepot.com they are west coast...just some ideas.

She has a Gammill long arm machine with thousands of designs to use. Most quilters charge by the square inch. She charges a flat rate by the quilt size.

Nice machine...and that is a bargain! Out here in Ca. it can get pricey, and sometimes you don't get what you really expected! Doug

Oh really? My mother loves quilts and she puts them together but does not have the machine to finish them. She always shipped hers off to get it completed. I'll have to let her know that your wife is right around the corner.

Finished quilting the quilt today. Tomorrow the boss lady is going to teach me how to put the border on. Posted a pic in my album that shows the quilting design & the backing.

Hey, that looks great! And perfect fabric for your location. What color are you going to do the binding in? Planning on curtains and pillowcases too? Good job! Make sure that you label the quilt on it's completion date with your name on it. Quilts tend to last for a long time and will get handed down to family members. They need to know the story behind them, so they will take care of them. Doug

Yosemite Falls Quilt by Mary (mfkaplan)

Postby halfdome, Danny » Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:54 pm

The UPS driver brought this beautiful "Yosemite Falls" quilt made by Mary (Mfkaplan) yesterday. We feel so special to have such a nice quilt to complete the Yosemite theme in our teardrop :beautiful: . Mary is quite the quilt artist and such a nice lady. Now I need to get busy and make her a custom sewing box to hold all her special scissors and bobbins of thread and whatnot's. :D Danny
