Hello again (61 Shasta Compact / TTT)

Postby Mrs.Anthony337 » Fri Apr 09, 2010 11:40 pm

Been busy researching and gathering (still gathering) parts and tools...this morning I scrubbed her down and she looks much better- but a repaint would be best. In a few weeks, we'll be pulling her back end apart to redo it. Been busy cleaning and tweaking little things, too. I have added more photos and such, if anyone's interested in my project.

I love the pink! And ordinarily, pink is not on my radar.

The layout is the same as my Puck, but yours looks roomy. Don't let the blood, sweat and tears get you. It will be worth it. Good luck.

Love your Single Cap/Puck combo- beautiful! ( I used to be highly into Volkswagens )

Yea, I understand and appreciate the original stuff- but pink is just not me...I plan on painting it cream and orange. Which makes sense more with the interior, than pink ever did.

I can't wait to really get started on her, make some real progress.

My parents had one identical to yours. Well... in better condition. We got it in 1962 used but like new. Same uphostery, curtains, floor tile, yellow rollup hamock ,appliances aluminum pot in wc. Exterior colors were off-white and pale yellow with silver stripe. Followed us faithfuly for many family vacations. Kind of cozy for 4 but a step up from the homemade PU camper we had used. Lots of memories in your pics. Thanks!!!!! Will

The Creamsicle will be a great compliment to your Element!

Am looking forward to the post-restoration pics.

By the way, Paul Newman sure was a hottie back in the day -- love that vintage US Magazine.

I see a lot of work in your future and I don't even have to look in a crystal ball! (...not that I could.) You've taken a lot of pictures already! You're not excited about this, are you?!

Cream and orange will mate well with your tow vehicle. I assume you are leaving the interior yellow and brown with maybe a few orange accents? It looks like you've already replaced some of the Formica laminate.

Can you please explain the potty arrangement? In one picture, I see the homemade thing that I thought was the potty but then, in another picture I see the homemade thing sitting above what looks like a pull-out porta-potty. That left me confused.... !?
