Should we start a tiny house section on this forum?

Postby mikeschn » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:38 am

The question of the day is, do you think there is enough interest in Tiny houses to start a section just for tiny houses?

Maybe we could call it something like "Tiny Houses on Wheels"?

I Came Across

Postby Franklin » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:48 am

I came across this a couple weeks ago: http://tinyhouseblog.com/tiny-house-con ... -trailers/ - when looking for ideas. Now, I want to get the TTT finished and start one of those little houses since I figure we can't upkeep and afford to take care of all this space as time goes on. Cathy

I like the idea of a new section for tiny houses.... one of my interests.

This is not a tiny house. It is going to be a travel trailer

Hello,

I didn't look at all of that site. But I tend to believe the main difference between "tiny houses" there and "tiny houses" here is that ours are on wheels and move A LOT. ;) That said, I wonder if our tiny houses are rare enough that it's better just to include them in "Non-Traditional Designs."

Right now the vote is evenly split, so we may do just that, and post any tiny house stuff under "Non-Traditional Designs". Good thought!

It would be nice to have a section on tiny houses. The web-sites referenced above seem to be about tiny houses permanently attached to the earth. I like that your forum would be about houses that move.

I know that our simple definition of "teardrop" is something like this: 4 to 6 feet wide, outside galley cooking, can't stand up inside, usually teardrop shaped.

Maybe a definition for your tiny house section could be: Built on a trailer frame, fully self-contained, meant to be inhabited for long stays, containing some elements of traditional house construction such as gable roofs, dormer windows, porches, mail boxes, etc.
