Steve Wolverton Tiny House...

Postby mikeschn » Fri Apr 22, 2011 6:01 pm

Remember the guy that did the Puffin? Steve Wolverton?

I spotted this tiny house on the web today, and I think it's the same guy. What do you think?

Yep, I think it is him. I wondered why he dropped out of the TD and TTT scene. It looks like he found a new mission to persue.

I wonder if he will build another camper when the tiny house is done?

I wonder if he will give his old TD and TTT friends a tour of the tiny house?

I've always looked at the lil 2 story barns in the Home Depot parking lot to turn into a house like this. When the kids grow up and move out, I will do this... Let wifey decorate it, convince her to stay there with me for awhile and then show her the bills in comparison. Yep some day.... :) WTG Steve.

Yea... two people require quite a bit more room. Even Jay on Tumbleweed homes says his micro homes are not suitable for 2 people.

John,

How far north do you have to go to be allowed to build something that small? I figured I'd have to go as far as Oscoda... or maybe Tawas... so do tell!!!

Great Link; thanks for that... I love the Small House stuff.

It led on to this Link. See the 3rd Post down from - ta da - Northern MI where Missus Marquette went to School. Her present day affinity for Engineers took early root from weekends with the Tech Boys at Houghton. I don't ask too much about details.

Sometime last summer my wife and I pulled into the Home Depot parking lot, directly in front of a row of assembled storage sheds, and the 2-story barn. I turned the car off, both of us sat there for a moment staring at the barn, then as if on que we turned towards each other and simultaneously said "we could live in that". No question about it, we could live in a space that small if situated on the right piece of dirt, and we plan on doing so within 3 or 4 years, though I'm not sure I'll let it go that long. A more or less conventionally sized house increasingly resembles an anchor to us. Food for thought:
