My drier died over a year ago, but I couldn't justify buying a new apartment stack when the washer still works, so I put a shower curtain rod right over the tub to hang clothes on (along with the original over the rim of the tub for the actual shower curtain). In the cold months clothes get hung in the bathroom, during the summer they hang outside on the line.
But I like the idea of a drying rack over the kitchen sink, for the kitchen towels and perhaps even for herbs.
Have you ever seen a kitchen drying cabinet? I'm not sure of an official name, but I think it is much more common in Northern Europe than other places. My grandmother had one (my engineer grandfather thought it was a great idea and installed it). Oh, wait, I just found it called an astiankuivauskaappi - a Finnish dish-drying cabinet.http://marlanedesign.blogspot.com/2012/ ... -rack.htmlhttp://outdancethedevil.blogspot.com/20 ... ealed.htmlhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/southof290/3838474467/
