Favorite coffee pot thread...

Postby 48Rob » Sun Jan 11, 2009 5:39 pm

Since there seems to be interest in coffee pots...

This one is my favorite.
It is an 8 cup aluminum Mirro brand that has its own "filter" and basket sections.
No need for paper filters.
I use it while camping with the Cabin car.

It has a water resovoir and a filter ,right? So the filter goes between the pot and the tank, you pour the water in the tank and filters down, right?
In the pics, it looks like you have the filter above the resovoir.....

Um, yeah uh

I don't use it often...but I can tell you it makes great coffee even when things are backwards...

I used to have one like yours, but the grounds kept getting in the bottom, no matter how coarse I got them ground...then again, Maybe I had it put together wrong. ;)

I don't have a favorite coffee pot because I don't drink coffee but I have acquired these over the years.
Only the little one has the percolator parts in it, I'm not sure the aluminum one had anything in it cause it's got strainers made into the lid.

I know how his works..... It's a drip coffee maker. Put the coffee in the filter basket, put it on the pot first, then put the tank on and fill the tank with water. The water then drips through the coffee into the pot below.

I was just funning with Rob because he had it setup backwards in his picture......

You'll have to forgive my ignorance on drip coffee makers. Even though I am a coffee drinker I've never used one of those. I just never pictured the water absorbing the flavor well if it goes through the grounds cold!

You would. 8) 8)

It's been in the basement so long I almost forgot about them. Found them the other day when I was tearing out some walls down there.
