Heater? Fuel?

Postby cuyeda » Tue Mar 27, 2012 11:31 pm

A friend gave me this heater, but not sure what kind of fuel should be used. I am guessing kerosene, but it is only a guess. What type of fuel should I be using? Anyone know the decade that this was manufactured? I don't see any identifying marks on it.

Ok, did a quick search, and confirmed it is kerosene for the fuel.

I did find the model and manufacturer after looking at it closer. Sears, model 155.70011

Re: Heater? Fuel? Sears Roebuck Kerosene heater, model 155.

I also acquired an old kerosene heater recently, (Sears Roebuck Kerosene heater, model 155.70011).
By chance, does anyone have a manual for this Model heater? I am not sure how old it is, but Sears no longer supports this product. It seems to work (as i lit it once), but I would love to have a photocopy of an old manual so I know I'm doing things right. Thanks in advance.

Thats an oldie but goodie!

Use undyed K-1 Kero and if it has some old fuel in it add 1 oz of dry gas per tank for the 1st few tanks to get rid of any condensation.

Keep the kids and /or dogs away from it since tipping it would be a disaster when lit.

Your best bet is to cross reference your wick to a similar Kero-Sun, Corona or Toyotomi stove since that is probably who made it in the 1st place.
