Retooling my collection.

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Retooling my collection.

Postby campmaster-k » Sat Dec 15, 2012 12:14 pm

As many of you know I have collected a few Coleman lanterns. When I got started in this endeavor I did not have a plan or know where it would end up. I just went out and bought lanterns and stoves. Most of them I got pretty cheap at flea markets. Now that I have done this thing for awhile I know more about what I like and dont like. I want to get more specialized. I want to focus on 200s. At the Dam Gathering I will be bringing a bunch of lanterns that I want to thin out. I will be trading for 200s . And or selling my stuff real cheap. I have some really nice big hats some old and some newer for trade. I have a bunch of 220s that I have fixed and work perfect that I will sell really cheap. So if you just want a lantern for camping or to start a collection find me at the Dam. I want 200As 242s and the like. Non of the lanterns I bring are coming home with me .

I am telling this to you all now so if you see a rough 200 at a yard sale or flea market and you can get it cheap buy it and trade me for a 220 that works.

I would post pics but for some reason that I cannot figure out I cant get to photobucket. At soon as I can I will post the lanterns of special interest.

I also have clamshells and the metal green coleman boxes that will go with the better big hats. Those of you who have traded with me before know that you will get the better of the deal .

I know many of you want to know the number so I wont keep you in suspense any longer. My only goal in Coleman collecting was to get to 100. I am there and now I want to change gears.

I was thinking that you might figure out where you wanted to be in the collection of things. I've also given away a lot of my duplicates. Doug

the dam gathering is a little to far away for a cowboy from wyoming.

how about a deal over the mail.

Slow I would like to help you but I want to trade as much stuff as I can at the Dam first. I will be trying to trade the big hats with cases for 200s.

Thanks Andy. I have done a couple of deals since yours and I am glad to have helped. However I am not doing any more deals by mail until after the Dam.

Eric , Lynn, And Andy are exempt. After that I will not entertain any more mail deals until after the dam.

I have already unloaded 20 lanterns. Please save your unwanted or bad condition 200s and 242s for the dam I will make you a deal you cannot refuse.

I also have stoves I will bring some rebuilt 425s and single burners too. I will trade those also.

Thanks.

Hang tight Cliff I will make sure you get something good after the Dam. Remember this stuff is not rare in CA. Pm me if you are looking for something specific.

Hi Kirk,
If I make it down to the Dam (it depends on road conditions and work), I have a duplicate of my birthday lantern that I picked up for $4. It's a little rough, but it's a blackband 2/53. It's yours, if you want it.

OK, Kirk, I will hang onto it for you. If I don't make it to the Dam, we'll figure something out.
