1976 Sears Avacado

I got this at a garage sale this past weekend for $20. It was nasty dirty and when I cleaned it up it didn't have a scratch on it. It even came in the original box!

I wasn't sure if $20 was a good deal. I have no idea what these are worth.

In my area one that clean will bring 40 bucks. Kirk may chime in later as he lives where Sears don't grow much. You have to remember Coleman probably sold a thousand to one of the Sears lanterns. So that alone makes the Sears harder to find.

I think the one Sears lantern I have seen (blue single mantle) had a price of $60 on it. I think you got a decent deal.

I think any lantern that "clean" (even if it did start out dirty) is worth every bit of $20 and much more.

Super nice lantern and a great deal!

When you consider the cost of a new lantern ( http://www.basspro.com/Coleman-Dual-Fue ... oduct/634/ ), it would have been a good deal at $50. I guess $20 could be considered an excellent deal for something that only needed a little cleaning.

Sweet lantern. A made in Chine globe will set a person back more than $10. You got a fantastic deal on that lantern. They bring more than a Coleman for some reason. Now you need some Avocado shag carpeting for the room you display it in. And some matching kitchen appliances. ( what where we thinking back then?)

Great find. This stuff is only worth how much you love it. Real world worth can be seen on Ebay. I don't really see much Sears on Ebay however. Any collector would would pay 40 or more. Ebay would probably bring more plus shipping. You did good.
