Texas Coyote @ Texas Tepee Trailer's Weekender 11

Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

Postby Tx River Rat » Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:36 pm

I have been getting a little done between the light showers and cool mornings.
Got my finish coat of glass on the roof and about half sanded out, all the rain and no leaks
Built and installed the inside fenders.
I have about half the framing for windows installed should be finished tomorrow with that.

I changed a few things on the tepee from the measurements we used on the coyote.
On the front profile I used a 12 and 12 (45%0 angle top and bottom, I did this for more room and battery mounting in the future. The back has a 8 inch tall 12 inch foreward slope ,I will get into why later.
On my camper I will be using a 38 inch wide mattress for when I am camping solo and two of them when my rib goes, so I moved the door foreward on the tepee to accommodate that.
The back wall will carry the ac and I also want to build some small cabinets and a tv stand ,so I braced the back wall stronger.
Pics will have to follow tomorrow my batteries went south on my camera.

Looking good, Ron.

You're moving a lot faster than I am. We are similar though, in that I will be building the teardrop before I get my trailer. I think that is how Grant Whipp builds his, not that mine will be anything comparable to the quality that Grant does.

Aggie
I ran a steel fab shop for a lot of years so the frame is a pretty simple matter for me to build.
It will be easier to jig up and build both of them at once.

I have a little trip planed at the end of next month. So the tepee needs to be camp able by then. Then when I get back from there I have a multi day kayak trip planned so I have to stay with it.

Today was one of those money spending days.
First I found the lock I am going to use for the door, bought it.
I then went and picked up my windows for the tepee ,bought them
Stopped by Academy they had a pop up tent like I wanted for the river float trips I make, bought that
Then my better half had a couple stops to make, Michles, for card stock(she does custom greeting cards) then 2 stops where she bought violets, some where the seeds had been in outerspace, I just said yes dear and paid for them.
Went to Cracker Barrel and ate.
Had to get back to the house was spending to much.
But I am on the better side of the lady of the house
(bet it don't last long)
