Mike
We got the door cut .
Coyote and I are both pretty good size ole rednecks so we enlarged the door to 30 inches wide.

Started sanding and filling in screw holes.

A little more sanding and then started work on the door. I got it cut out fit and glued and then put on the outside skin.

The glued and nailed the inside skin on

Tomorrow I will sand the edges then mount in the trailer.
I am liking this trailer more and more..

Starlene what size windows did you put in and where were they purchased.
Thanks

They are 12 x 24 horizontal sliders purchased at home depot. They are regular home style windows. However, Lowes can order a flange mount (like the old style mobile homes used to use) that attach with screws from the outside. I used the regular ones because they were easy to find and not very expensive. They hold up very well and the screens stay on even at 70 mph. This is the third time I used this style of window – a little more complicated to trim – but for the price per window – worth it. To install – insert the window from the inside. I put construction adhesive around all flanges and set the window in the cutout. I then put blocking around the window to act like a clamp to hold the window in place and give a point of attachment around the window to the interior paneling. You may trim outside as you wish. I have fender wells installed most of the braces installed inside. Coyote has gotten most of the screw holes puttied, and sanded.
So we are moving along.

Coyote and I got a few things accomplished in the last few days, The door completed and is hung.
We got the window opening cut and window braces and installed.

Image

I sure like the profile of this trailer
Image

We made the decision to install 2 windows on the drivers side of the trailer for more light and a more spacious look

It is starting to look like a trailer

Lookin' good. You'll need that wide door to install the washing machine in the camper  (just kidding) the addition of the second window looks cool!

Would it be possible to install one of those windows vertically in the door without destroying its structural integrity?

Keep up the good work!!

Yes you could install one in the door without destroying the structural integrity of the door. But the windows, as they are built - they have drains built into the lower channel. And the end seal would not be adequate - however, I suppose you could modify them and reposition the drain at the bottom. ;)

You can buy windows that same size that are vertical , I don't want a window in the door because it is easy to break that and reach Thur and unlock the door.
Starlene
I took a page from the Aliner book on the windows , they look really big inside to be so small and the windows really helped that look. We went with frosted windows ,lets light in but you can,t see thru them ,hehe no curtains ,this is a man trailer) boy I hope the better half doesn't read this.
Coyote was giving me heck yesterday ,told me every time I get the outside filled and sanded you go to putting in more screws :?
We both are extremely happy with the design of the trailer and the room inside.

No pics tonight
But we did get some things done all the interior braces are in place, back wall braced for the ac all screw holes filled and sanded.
From my boat building experience I started putting a saturation coat of polyester resin inside, I will cover all the interior this way.Coating both sides of the 4 mm laun is suppose to increase the strength 4 times, also really bonds the spars and ribs to the skin.
More tomorrow

Looking forward to another update.

I like the idea of the a/c in the rear wall.

Coyote and I finished coating the walls and uprights with poly, after it dried started cutting and installing the foam insulation.

You can see in this pic the bracing for the ac in the back wall.

We ran out of foam so off to the box store tomorrow.
