Volkswagon bug 5th wheel trailer

Postby 2bits » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:04 am

OK, this is a trip! I would certainly mount it more securely, and I don't have a mini car, but besides all the personal commentary, it is very interesting to see a VW Bug towing a 5th wheel with a 360' radius~

I love it! Every time I see this video I wish I had one. I have the hardest time backing up so this would just be the ticket for me! Kenny has shown me all the different ways to put my hands on the wheel etc but I just have a mental block UGH

That a cute setup... I've seen it a few times before... but now I am wondering, has anyone seen the inside of this trailer? If you have... please share...

Thanks,

Mike...

Yeah that hands on the bottom of the wheel takes practice but it works!

Technically (I guess) it would be a gooseneck.

I like it. Just imagine the looks you'd get with something like that......
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

I guess I was in TX too long.

It's not a 5th wheel because those have a pin on the trailer and a "5th wheel" in the bed like a semi truck. A gooseneck has a ball in the bed, and the gooseneck trailer fits onto the ball.
