This is off a Puck caravan, but they are similar to VW camper pop up roof thingies.

What are they called and where can I get some???

Probably not, but I only own a big saw, a grinder, a drill and a hammer.

Check with some vendors over there; they are canopy supports

Buy a trashed caravan ("trailer" for those of us in the US) and scavenge the whole pop top. (I have one from an old VW camper that I will be dropping on top of my cargo conversion)
Mark - Metro New York
Toyota Land Cruisers: '66, '78 and '86
'03 Yukon XL, 2500/8.1 liter/8 lug + 18' 10k Car Trailer
M416 1/4 ton Military trailer - SOLD
5x8 Cargo/Camper - for sale soon

They are very popular in Australia so you might find it easiest to just buy online from an Australian company and have it shipped - they can be heavy so you would want to know the shipping costs before you buy!

Just search on 'canopy lifters' in Australian Google. An Australian dollar and a US dollar are worth about the same today.
