compact3.5?

Postby jdale » Sun Jul 01, 2012 8:14 am

This is my version of a standy. Built from scratch it only took 3 years! It started life as an attempt to build a A-frame type but the sealing problems with all the mating surfaces made it unserviceable. So I converted all my drawings and construction to the current design. It's far from perfect and the inside is not done yet. Still, it is usable right now and we'll give it a trial run very soon.

More pics! More pics!

It looks like it was your original design, not a modification of another.

The large windows must make the interior feel airy and larger that it
actually is.

Just curious - what's the saying on the side? Is that in the Cyrillic alpahbet?

It'll be interesting to watch you complete the interior.

Cheers,
Norm/meznmo

i'll try to get more pics up this week. Yes that is Russian words on the side. In russian it's Oleshka, a sort of softer version of my wifes name Olga and followed my name as well. I got parts from all over the country and some outside too. I also made the front and side windows to save a little $$$. Thanks for the good comments . I'll get those pics posted soon!

compact3.5 maiden voyage

Postby jdale » Sat Jul 14, 2012 8:30 pm

Took our first trip out over the 4th of July. The new camper pulled well and was great at the campground. Answered several questions too. I read somewhere that"A great pleasure in life is doing what others say you can't". So True

Very nice to see another variant of the Compact design. I'm biased, but I think these make a lot of sense for those looking for a small package with the ability to stand up and to have all the comforts of home inside and out of the weather.

Congrats.

I like it. Nice profile.

Of course, I'm partial to things that expand in one way or another and the door in the back is a fave as well.

Do you have a weight so far?
