Sleeping pod/toy hauler utility trailer conversion

Postby Lighterknot » Fri Dec 13, 2013 1:57 am

From reading and lurking here i would say this fits into the non-traditional category. I am at the beginning of the design stage and open to suggestions. My only requirements are to sleep 2 people and haul 2 bikes. In the crude sketch below the bike is shown diagonally. To fit 2 bikes they would have to go in straight which means I would have to have a hinge or some other way to make room in the pod. The drawing shows a hinge but I have another idea I am drawing up now.

I have some ideas for the sleeping compartment that will go on top of the 6x6 platform as well. Maybe something like this:

Decided to give sketchup a try and man is that program complicated!

This was my first thought but after reading some info in the foamie thread I think I may be able to pull off a curved front.
