Grasshopper/Sunspot Plans?

Hello all,

I would like to build a tiny travel trailer similar to a Grasshopper or Sunspot. I came across some old pictures of a Grasshopper on my wife's Pinterest account and decided I must have one for myself someday. Unfortunately, after a quick google search I realized they were made only for a short period of time so I started researching teardrops and thought maybe I could build one.

I was hoping to get pointed in the right direction on something similar. Maybe someone else has built something like a Grasshopper? My only requirements would be as follows. I would need it to be roomy enough for my wife and I to sleep comfortably and an AC is mandatory as we would be camping mostly in Tennessee and Alabama during the summer. I'm really hoping there are some sort of building plans out there somewhere.

Thanks

I built a 5x10 version of a grasshopper, with a couple of changes. You should be able to find the build thread if you search for "locust". I've got some drawings on my PC at home that Mike was good enough to send me. I'll try to find them when I get home on Tuesday.

Ours was built for us (long story). It is a 6X10 all aluminum frame.

The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Looks like the only thing that survived my hard drive crash last year was this graph paper drawing.

The ones in the thread Mike linked to are the ones I started from. Good luck!

Building a grasshopper style out of foam.. loving it so far. Tons of room in the cabin, and I can pick up the hitch and walk it around the yard. More photos should be going up today. Reinstalling the entire roof after a little microburst storm a week ago. Three cheers for micro tornados? :?
