Truck Camper-to-pull behind

Postby trelstje » Mon Sep 22, 2014 9:25 pm

I tried hunting through the forums finding out if anyone has tried this idea...

Is it possible and of feasible to take a truck camper and mounting it to a trailer making it a pull behind camper? Maybe frame up the empty spaces and skin it for storage.

My uncle has a few truck campers on the farm and I am just playing out ideas in my head and throwing it out to you guys.

Is this idea too vague?

That's what i was thinking. I wonder how they secured it down to the trailer.

It has been successfully done before by others. I've seen
pics of different ones on the web. I should think that bolting
through the floor structure in an evenly spaced manner [corresponding
to the trailer structure underneath it] would be sufficient since the
PU camper is already a unified structure. Or perhaps you could modify/
adapt the existing attachment system for the PU camper to
the truck.

Cheers,

Hey Jesse, I put my Alaskan on a trailer, mostly to move it around the yard. Here's the post: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60795#p1091607
