It is a nice looking trailer. It was posted on this forum many months ago under Unusual designs found on the internet.

Much as I love the gypsie van look, they just don't go with solar panels

I dont care for the look either, but I could see making the roof any fashion on wants.

I would love to know more about the lead screw mechanism to raise the roof but I don't want to pay $65 to find out.

Try this link. http://www.ventspleen.com/designing-the ... c-caravan/ It gives a decent picture and somewhat of an explanation to the lifting mechanism.

Thank you for the link. I was thinking that the trailer used four lead screws - one in each corner - linked by chain drive. (This is how my Dewalt planer raises and lowers.) It is pretty amazing that the entire trailer roof is lifted by one lead screw in the center.

That link does not come up for me. I found this one and it seems it is the same camper.

I like the simplicity of the design.

Came across this and thought you might find it interesting. Simple solution for a lifting roof

You could use semi-flexible panels. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1311.R4.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xsemifle.TRS0&_nkw=semi+flexible+solar+panel&_sacat=0
