Canned hams

Postby mikeschn » Tue Apr 20, 2004 9:01 pm

Where did I first hear of the name canned ham? Was it Joseph? Anyways there was a whole bunch of different canned hams made back in the 40's and 50's. So what I want to know what is so special about this one Joseph?

I really can't say - it just speaks to me. I saw that picture and said "That's IT!" It's basically a big teardrop without the galley hatch. Take your basic teardrop floorplan, move the galley from the back to the front, turn the bed sideways and put it in the back, add a teeny dinette on the side, a couple of cabinets, and hey presto!

You could probably do something similar with your Baja Benroy if it was a little taller.

Yep - the Dalton is definitely a canned ham and looks like a nice one to boot. Any shots of the interior?

Yea Gage. Any shots of the interior?

That's what this board is all about. Lets see the interior. We like all kinds of small trailers.

Nice pic there Gage. Does the Dalton have a potty? I know there is a little table in the front. Take a few more pic's and post please.

I'll bet if you take out the table on the right you could put a bathroom with a shower in that area. You eat outside anyways, right. The only problem is when you take a shower, the whole campground can watch through that darn front window! :flower:

I guess I should answer you Jim...Been doing to many things at the same time lately and forgot all about this post. There will be no bath room it the Dalton. Except for the exterior paint, it's all original. I'm only the second owner and when I got her all I did was clean the inside and paint the out side. The stove and oven was never even used. A real find for only $300. Now the Mercury is another story. The only thing that is going to stay stock is the out side and I just may change the windows. But the interior is going to be completly redone. I'm also going to lower it about 3 inches.

That's a real monster you found there Gage. What really strikes me is the dual wheels, one of which is right in front of the door. So do you climb over the wheel to get in? I'll bet the women really like that one!

So is this the one you put the bathroom into?
