Looks good from here.

Another way to do to door overlap without weakening either the floor piece of door panels would have been to add a cleat frame to the under side of the floor openings, overlapping the cut line to form a ledge. It would reduce the clearance between under side and sub-floor by the thickness of the cleat, but its not like you can cram stuff in there with out some measure of clearance anyway, so maybe no great loss.

The way you did it has the advantage of not losing any head space in the storage well, but might tend to separate the plies if the doors are over loaded from above. This may not be an issue at all, but your comment got me thinking about the advantages and (potential) disadvantages to the various options.

Again, your work looks good! :applause:

 Thanks

I thought about going the cleat route but thought about the clearance like you mentioned.

I even thought about making cuts with a skill saw at a 45 degree angle and then they would sit in there flush but not fall through either.

I didn't think about the ends of the plywood separating. If that starts to happen I may be able to sand them down a little (since I varnished them) and add some epoxy to keep them together.

I made the doors where hopefully there won't be a whole lot of weight on them. The ones at the foot end I think should be fine.

The one in the middle at the head end I will have to see how that one goes. I needed to put that one there because that is where the middle partition for putting long items such as a canopy tent, long poles ect. I needed to be able to access it in case something slides up there and I can't reach it. I am sacrificing some galley space to be able to slide it in through the bulk head but I think I should still have enough space back there.

I got the walls up today. With the flooring system it definitely took the extra hands trying to line everything up. Got it done with only a few minor issues. Just trimming a couple things here or there. Finally it looks like a teardrop!

I went back and forth on how deep I should make the storage area. Go with 8,10,12 inches? I figured since my TV is a Jeep more storage was the best way to go.

I started on my interior cabinets. I was going to have drawers under the cabinets but decided not to add them. I figured I have plenty of storage space under the mattress and the extra space in the foot area would be nice.

I placed the mattress in to lay down on it and get a feel of where I want to put a shelf on the head end. About 28 inches up seemed good. That way when I raise up I don't have to worry about hitting my head. I am working on building the shelf now. I still need to finish clear coating the cabinets.

It is designed to fold up like that. The cover is removable and washable.

That mattress is also on my short list. Be very interested to see how comfortable it is. My only concern are the seams. Looks like the seams will fall right where your hips are when sleeping on your side.

Oh and the cabinets and the whole trailer are looking really nice.

I didn't pay attention to the seams when I was on it. It was comfortable though

I've been working on the interior shelf at the head.

Getting the lights wired.

Made the spars.

Also getting the Maxxair and Sunroof framed.

Got the ceiling sanded down and varnished.

I also came up an inch short from where my floor and side wall meet. (see pictures below) You can also see where the pocket hole screw missed. I still need to take that out. I won't be able to bend the plywood around that last inch to meet up with the floor.

I was maybe thinking of ripping a piece of board and cutting out some slots/notches for the partitions/dividers. That way it can lay flat/flush against the frame. Then my ceiling can be glued/stapled to the ripped piece of wood.

Any other thoughts/suggestions on how I could seal the ceiling up to the frame and side walls?

Got the ceiling in. Started placing where the spars will go. They will get glued in tomorrow. Thinking instead of bed liner for the exterior going full Dumb and Dumber with it!

Got my cabinet doors today. Will have to stain them and install hardware.

I had found this cabinet manufacturing company on this forum from some previous builds. I don't have the tools to make the doors as nice as I wanted them.

I found these turn to open knobs

I'm trying to get this road ready by September 8th for the Telluride blues and brews festival . I may not get my galley cabinets completed by then but maybe I can get the exterior fiberglassed and bed liner sprayed by then
