Finally got the fab shop to finish folding and welding my rear quarters and the drenched tail lights.
They did an ok job but I had hoped for slightly neater welding (am I being to fussy?)
Anyway I can look at riding it up if need be but at least its finally done.
They arnt in final position just nudged on for now.
Happy with my idea anyway.

Aluminum is actually the hardest (of commonly welded materials) to weld. To my eye those welds look very good, but then again, I have never gotten much chance to get even passable at welding it, so it is perhaps a slightly swayed perspective.

IMO, install them and step back a pace or two, then move on to the next battle.

Thanks mate. It's what I was thinking.
I might maybe send them back on the inside so the holes are rounded but I can live with them

Very Cool! I love the frenched look. I'm fussy like you, especially when I'm paying someone for it. but I agree with KC, it's tough to get a circle like that to have a perfect bead. The way I see it you have two choices... Carefully grind it down, sand it with multiple grit papers, then put a wheel to it and polish it out. It would be BA. OR... Slowy step away and move on to the next project as wiser minds than mine have suggested...

Looks great Brotherman. Keep it up

I sanded the welds back inside the tubes so they are round again and it looks alot better. May play around more over the weekend

Lol thanks mate.
Just couldn't live with it.
I've only just started the worst of the two. I'll revisit it tomorrow.

Yeah, just be careful not to burn thru the weld or make it too thin.

Yea I thought about that. I might get a few tacks put on the back for good measure
