Starting a weekender

Just finished putting together the HF 4x8 frame. I have undercoated the floor with the black goop. Those of you that have the folding trailer. What did you do with the hinge connector on the trailer? Looks like it will be in the way. I just ordered the epoxy. I am cutting the wall out tonight. Will post some pics later.

Got the walls cutout and put up, along with the front panel. Almost time to start on the roof.

The harbor freight trailer middle and end pieces sit inside the side pieces causing them to be about 1/8 inch lower. This will bow the floor down slightly when bolted down. What did any of you use as a spacer? How many bolts would you recommend to bolt the floor down?

Got my window yesterday. How is the window attached on the outside? Does the trim ring screw through the wall and then into the window?

I used thick galvanized washers to compensate for the difference in height.

I've not installed mine yet, but from what I understand, you place the window in the opening (from the outside) and shim the window in place, then install the trim ring on the inside by screwing through the predrilled holes and into the window frame's body. (there is usually a groove on the window frame that is meant to accept self tapping sheet metal screws) This will 'clamp' the window in place when the flange from the window body and the flange from the trim ring grip the outside and the inside of the wall.

Your listing says it comes with a trim ring meant for a 3/4" wall, so you should be good to go since you're using just a plain plywood wall. If you have any extra layers of wood inside or out, you may need longer screws for your trim ring to window frame connection.

Your build is coming along fast! Very cool!

Got the window in. Still waiting for the door. Starting framing up for the roof vent. Should attach roof tonight. Do you think 8 bolts will be enough to bolt the floor to the frame?

Carl, what was the designation of the plywood you're using!

Looks nice!

The grain looks nice for a fir ply and it looks good both sides...

Sorry... that first exclamation point should have been a question mark... my bad.

Too late. Already tore it down. Got it for 19.99 a sheet. No voids in the sides either. :D

Why did you tear it down already?

Got the roof put on. Cut out the opening for the fan. Door is supposed to be in today. I bought one of the ebay doors. How has everyone transferred the pattern to the trailer?
