Looky what arrived at my home today. Mrs. Starleen went out shopping and found these “darling” little prints. She said they’ll go just fine with the theme of the camper. So you know what that means – break out the ole sewin’ machine and get busy making new curtains and pillowcases.

She also came home with this:

Several yards of clear plastic with an imprint of lady bugs for a table cloth and other items.

Tailors (the male version of seamstresses) have been sewing for generations.

Starleen2: You go, guy! (I like the green print.)

Ok – now for the installation of the outside side seals. Since there is not an offset, the seals are necessary to keep dust and rain out when towing. After a long search for a suitable seal – the answer was right under my garage door – the seal that is. I found that the seal that seals the bottom of a garage door is perfect for the top hinge and side seals. It has UV protection, remains pliable , and meant for constant use.

See how the seal bends around the curve and provides an excellent seal no matter what the angle of the hatch may be. (note – the top hinge and gasket will cover over the majority of the top seal. It has not been installed (yet) for clarity)

Just a picture of the top with its first coat of red paint.

Here is the hatch in the closed position and latched down. The bolt is in the t-nut for added security while travelling.

Thought I would show the Air conditioner mounting. The aluminum strips on the outside mate up with the weather-stripping on the AC hatch is to prevent it from sticking to the paint.

The air conditioner unit is secured by two angle brackets attached with a mounting screw on the unit and wing nut and washer to the camper on both sides.

Great job Scott!! I can't believe its done already. Does the red section get some black spots like in the plans to finish the ladybug theme?

btw, the black weather strip adds a nice accent

Looks great Scott, looks to me like you have the best WW style trailer built so far. How did you come out weight wise or did I miss that?
