So I ripped out the rubber and the staples and started scraping, scraping, scraping the glue up. It was terrible. After about an hour and a half of the scraping and failed attempt at a solvent, I then took out a grinder and had at it. That was less than ideal too. But I managed to get most of it up and then I applied some bondo to the corners to round them up. Here is how the shower pan looks this evening. Still pretty ugly.

After some sanding and more filling and more sanding tomorrow, I will apply fiberglass and gelcoat, to form my own pan. Fingers crossed. :frightened:

What a disasterous day I have had. i worked on getting the showewr pan underlay just right all morning. Sanding and filling and sanding. After it was just so I cleaned it up and pre cut the glass matting. Then I mixed the resin and started laying up the fiberglass. I had one quart and as I got to the end I finished the qt. completely. Seemingly just enough. But in reality I was short. I needed a bit more to finish it all smooth. I had done some glassing with the woven mat before but never the stranded mat. I had fibers sticking up all over the place. I tried rolling them down but they would not. More just kept coming up. It was starting to set up so I had the even dumber idea that I would apply the white gel coat at that point thinking it would lay the fibers down and all would be OK. This was my big mistake. The resing below was already setting so the gel coat did nothing to the fibers at all. Now I have a shower pan that looks like marshmallow topping and it was very expensive on top of it. Now I am going to have to sand it all down. What a waste of time energyand money. I am disgusted right now.

I still do not have a hitch on my TV but I rolled the trailer behind the van anyway to have a look at how it lined up. Here are a couple of photos.

Love the paint scheme. Looks beautiful. You should be proud.

MYOUNG is right. She is a work of art. You will get the shower under control. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day.

ARRRGG! I worked the rest of the day on grinding down my mistake. it was either grind it down or get out the sawzall. If I did a showerpanectomy it would have come out better but would have been a couple of days correcting it all. I decided as long as the pan was watertight and did not cut anybodies toes then it was OK. So I grinded and grinded it down and block sanded it with 5o grit. After hours of drudgery it was only half as nice as it was this morning. OH well. I bought another expensive can of white gelcoat. I did it up and it is a lumpy bumpy pan but it should be water tight. I suppose after I get everything else in it will be fine.

It isn't lumpy, it's non-slip!

I do not have "non skid" sized bumps. I have moguls or foothill sized bumps.

Today I did most of the rest of the bathroom. First I cut a hole from the inside of the bathroom, for a hatch cover opening for ventilation.
the I spray glued some screen material over the opening.
