Um, Er, that may have been discussed before.

I claim amnesia.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

I decided to add some interior door pulls to help close the doors.

The PrincessHelper gives it a test drive. We really have to do something about the painter tape curtain rods.

Image

More play time, or is it teardrop time. I can't keep it straight.

Galley space for the stove drawer. If you happen to look closely at the right slide, you can see the shim. The vertical support went in slightly crooked. I didn't use any ole wimpy door shim either. Nosiree, I got BUILDING shims for this tough job.

Image

Drawer side of the drawer slide. I remembered to remove the stop (black bit over pencil here) from the body side slide this time. The stove drawer is removable. I can't say that yet for the cooler tray.

Image

Measure twice, cut three time??? When I dry assembled the drawer, it fit the slot exactly. I had left off the width of the slides, so had to cut it narrower. So the new narrowed, by one inch (for the 2 half inch slides), is now 1/4" too narrow. Good thing I had some 1/4" oak strips laying around doing nothing.

Looking like my vision.

Sweet! :applause:

And by the way, do we need to resurrect the messy garage contest again?

Sweet! :applause:

I wanted to do that, but I also wanted the counter to be somewhat near kitchen counter height. Ended up compromizing with just enough room for a 15" tall cooler, of which I have 2. No room for drawers, it barely comes out now. I should have made the counter an inch higher and put the drawers in!

I'll let you in on a secret to counter height. I was considering all along the height from floor to counter. I completely brain farted the ground to counter height.

All in all, it turned out quite nicely.

Actually, I designed this on paper, and was measuring the counter top from the ground. However, I built the cabinet facing and installed it rather permanently, and another factor was if the counter top were any higher, it would overlap the doors.

I trimmed the edges of the stove drawer. I hadn't planned to trim the opening, but it looked a bit funny. I had just enough trim left, so...

After some finish. A view from the ugly end.

Image

Time to start working on practical hatch supports.

Image

Rose has been officially Lab inspected.

The renowned Inspector Kilroy of Liberty Ship fame made a surprise visit.

Thanks! I agree, I had been working on my truck since my daily driver went down and then I bought a new car so things are settling down now. Just need the :money:

The stove drawer is done. Yay.

Image

Inspector Kilroy's mark.

Image

Load 'er up.

Image

There was just a slight bit of interference between the hatch and the stove drawer. A few minutes with a drum sanders cured that.

Image

Among the other little details we've been working on. The edge of the shelf got trimmed in oak. Note The Princess has created a new playhouse.

Man that is looking good! You know, after I bought a little heater from Wally world the other day, I looked in my closet and I already had one, and it is the exact same one you have in that pic! I like the stove slider!
