WOW! Haven't been on here in forever. We've had the winter blues and now we have the cabin fever! :?

We've been out working on the tear a little since we're cooped up with all this snow the northeast is getting. Terry always picks the worst weeks for vacation!!! uggg!! At least he hasn't had to drive to Phila everyday in this.

We originally thought and bought a T handle for the back hatch but have heard some horror stories of them coming open in tow. Didn't want to risk it so we broke down and spent the money to get some really nice stainless steel latches from McMaster Carr. (Thanks to our fellow Teardroppers for their photos to compare our options and for their advice.) These are heavy duty! They also lock with a padlock. Our hatch will not be opening in tow!!!

Our friend RJ formed the stainless steel pads for us and there will be diamond plate between the SS pads on each side. Side molding will go on the edge and of course a seal. Looks like it will seal up real nice!! We're glad we spent the extra money on these clamps!! :money:

Looks like she will be all sealed up by the end of this week!!!
SPRING PLEASE GET HERE FASTER!!!! :snowstorm:

Terry and Sue,

Those latches look really nice as does the rest of your teardrop!

My brother lives in D.C., and he has sent us pictures of the snow. I guess I should stop complaining abut the cold here. At least we don't have any snow (to speak of.)

I would like to use a similar latch. If you get a chance, could you post the part number for yours?

Thanks, Tom
Tom (& Linda)

Thanks Tom,

This is the link to the part. They've gone up in price since we bought just a month ago. :(
They are very sturdy though, just what we wanted.

You all did a really nice job on that trailer; and, yes, that pillow looks really good, too! Thanks for sharing.

Stunning work!

Enjoyed the opportunity to watch you build and I really like the outcome. Your TD is chock full of evidence of careful planning and execution, enjoy it as soon and often as possible.

We have a name for our Tear!!

"Little Bitty" OR "Lil' Bitty"
Inspired by Alan Jackson's song "Little Bitty". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo2OIUpWznY

It kinda says it all about our life. We like things little bitty.(cept for maybe the size of our family, hehe That all stemmed from that first little bitty look, funny how that works!)

We started our life with little bitty dreams and now our most recent little bitty dream has come true!

Does anyone know where to get custom chrome or what looks like chrome nameplates? I remember seeing a post about it but can't find it.
