Sorry guys... Yeah, I'm still here... Other than my casino winnings, ($150 on penny slots) last weekend was pretty much a bust. I finished installing my seals just to tear them while trying to put the hatch back on. It's a snug fit with the seals in place... Since then, I've taken all the seals back off. I'm now going to put the hatch back on and install the seals with the hatch in place (more or less). That should get interesting...

I've also got to countersink some screws that were getting in the way.

I'll post photos soon...

Hey, Bill, you're spoiling the trailer fans with so many eye-popping build posts! Now, they are clamoring at the screen for more!

Finally more progress!!! The hatch is on and sealed. Once I get the door, roof vent and top hinge sealed it will be water tight.

We took it for a spin around the neighborhood to see how it tows. I couldn't be happier!

What a great looking combo. Those two pictures really show the scale of the WW well, I thought it was huge in the other pictures inside and in front of the garage, now not so much.

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to see it polished out to a high shine. It's kind of dull and dirty looking right now.

:applause:  :applause: Very nice Bill.

I echo what Sharon said - your tow vehicle and TTT are a great combination! Besides looking good, I know you built TTT very stout.

Hopefully you got it back in the garage before this $#@! rain started here Sunday morning.

Time for an update... Some of you might remember my battery issue that I postponed dealing with. Well, the issue has been addressed. I welded up a rack to mount the batteries low on the tongue. I plan to build a tongue box to hide them.

I wish I knew too! I'll have to get it weighed before it's road ready. I'll post the weight as soon as I find out.

It's been a while since my last post, but believe me, I've been working. I've been doing tons of little stuff that hardly warrant updates.

This weekend, I got started on my tongue box...

Here is the frame of the tongue box. It's puts a shelf several inches above the battery bank.

Image

It's big enough to hold my generator and a few other odds and ends.

Image

I also built the "shroud" that hides everything. It's open on the back, and is really just intended to hide the generator and offer a little protection from the elements.

Image

I think I'll do a quick fiberglass job to tie the lid pieces together a bit.

Bill,

That's coming along so nice!

How do you secure the "tongue box" to the frame, and how do you access the generator when you want to use it? Do you have to remove a couple bolts? or is it hinged?

Mike...

Thanks, Mike... Like I did on the chassis, I'm going to weld a few tabs onto the frame and just use carriage bolts to secure the shroud to it. As for access to the inside, the curved part is a lid that will either come completely off or hinge forward.
