You're rockin right along Eddie. Sweet tear. Your moonroof is so nice it should be standard on all teardrops, and the paint job is just outstanding even in just the first stage!

I really wish I had the tools to bend the tubing, and I would go that way. It would be sooooo much stronger and probably not weigh too much more than just a wood build.

Nice job!!!

I would like to ask a few possibly stupid questions:

What are special about the rivets you are using?

Why are the rivets in the middle of the panel closer together than the rivets on the bottom of the trailer, or is that an optical illusion?

What is the thickness of your aluminum and where are you purchasing it in wide enough sheets?

Are you only painting the "tan" and leaving the white alone?

Well lets see the rivets are Olympic rivets from Vintage Trailer Supply, they give the look of buck rivets when shaved down. The rivets are spaced 1" apart in the middle so as not to have buckling of the aluminum because of different heat expansion between the steel and aluminum. My aluminum sheets are .040 4x12. I am thinking of adding some copper and chrome accents on the sides. Most of the trailer will be white. My car when done will be Copper and Champagne so the trailer will match some what.

Beautiful teardrop and Rat Rod in the background! Do you have a straight pic of the Gil Elvgrin style pinup on the hatch?

Looks like your moon roof might be from the same guys I got mine from on eBay, it was the perfect size. I found one with no tint so I can see the stars.

I haven't bought the shaver yet. I am ordering it next week. I can tell you that the rivets will break off about 1/4" long and then you snip as much of it as you can with a good pair of dikes. Then you shave them round with the shaver. Here is the shaver http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Oly ... ts-177.htm

That's an expensive shaver! I can see why you haven't purchased it yet!
